HAIR PREPARATION & MAINTENANCE

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

We recommend washing your hair before your appointment and blow dry it straight.
On the day of your appointment, brush your hair and make sure it is dry.

For a very curly hair, we recommend to shampoo, condition and blow dry your hair straight, a few hours before your appointment. This will give you the best results and be more comfortable while we braid. (Please do not use a straightener)

*Please note we do not accept clients with head lice. Please check prior to your booking.

LITTLE ONES

Our team are experienced with working with children. We love seeing little boys and girls rocking braids with cute colour extensions!

At times the braiding experience can be uncomfortable or painful to little scalps so we have listed a few things to make your visit a little easier:

  • Show your little one pictures of braiding styles and pre-pick your style before you arrive. You can also visit the kiosk to see our styles and extension colours.

  • On the day of your appointment, de-tangle any knots from the hair. Try using our special Magic Brush

  • Bring a fully-charged tablet loaded with your child’s favourite activities to keep them amused.

  • Bring snacks or a long lasting lollipop for your child.

ADDING EXTENSIONS

At Braidztyle we add quality, lightweight braiding extensions. Adding braiding hair helps to add thickness and texture, creating a better end result. It can also add desired length or a pop of fun colour.

Extension packs contain 165g of hair which will cover approximately 4 braids.

BRAID MAINTENANCE

During your appointment, we use specialised gel and hair spray to keep your hair in place. How you look after your hair at home will determine how long your braids will last for. Here are some tips:

  • Do not wash your hair or go swimming with your braids in. This may make them frizzy.

  • When sleeping, wrap your hair in a silk scarf, durag or use a silk pillowcase. This will prevent your braids rubbing out or causing frizz.

  • If you would like to tame your fly aways, spray lightly with hairspray and comb in the direction of the braid / hair.
